Why should network management be one of IT priorities?

The companies are increasingly more dependent on the Internet and its resources so that the operations, processes, and projects are in full working on the day by day of the business.

In such a scenario, it is natural that the employees and systems need a network with high availability so that they may deliver what is expected from them. After all, when Internet fails, it virtually makes unfeasible any work that needs email, applications in cloud, information sharing, among other applications that need connection.

Network Management

It means that the IT teams, responsible for the proper working of the networks also become increasingly responsible for the infrastructure required so that the companies may have a competitive attitude in the market. Find out below the reasons why the management of networks should be one of IT priorities:

High availability

Upon managing your network, planning and performing improvement actions, the companies make that the data exchanges from end to end happen in a reliable and fast manner, avoiding problems such as network congestion, resources allocated in an incorrect manner or extinguished/overloaded resources, problems related to the information security, among so many others.

It assures that the company’s systems are always working at the most critical times for the business, such as the closing of contracts, or the delivery of quality products and services to its clients.

Smart effort

The IT professionals in different companies loose great part of their available time solving network problems that reach the users while they are working. With the management of networks, it is possible to identify problems or trends in the network before they manifest to the end user.

It allows that the IT professionals solve, in advance and with little effort, problems that would be reported by several users, being able to dedicate their free time to tasks more strategic to the business.

Investment X expenditures

The management of networks may have the company to make smarter investments and to reduce its operational costs. After all, raise information on the network and its resources and invest in the required infrastructure, so that the IT capacity follows the business volume, is much smarter that expecting congestions and problems to spend in fast corrections in a hasty manner. Additionally, the unavailability of the network, which causes productivity loss, is also decreased, so reducing the costs with idle employees and systems.

Systemic view

Any manager would like to have a more comprehensive view of the processes and projects that he/she conducts to make smarter decisions. The management of networks contributes for such, allowing the access to information of all resources that compose the network, favoring decisions more assertive to the company.

Subtle changes

The management of networks also enables the company to identify which resources are causing or may cause problems to the users. With that, actions such as maintenance and change of equipment may be made without interrupting the use of critical systems, improving the IT image before its publics of interest. At times of high competition among companies, counting on an information technology infrastructure prepared to the business may be decisive to reach competitive advantages.
